Tapping Equipment
ADSL Lines
A sophisticated
tactical system for recording and analysis,
which can be used on its own or in conjunction with
SIC
to
intercept ADSL. It enables
on-the-spot recording, decoding, evaluation and visualisation with the
SDA for ISP
with optional support for analysis using a free text search tool. Alternatively
the raw data can be routed to the
SYBORG Interception Centre
(
SIC).
ATM
Recorder
The
ATM Recorder serves to
intercept
Internet activity directly at the Internet Service Provider, or to capture
data directly within the networks. The data for the target facility (usually
DSL)
are recorded in the
ATM network of the provider and
routed straight to the input interface of the
ATM
recorder. All data are saved in a default directory and are then accessible for
further processing. The data can be decoded on the spot and analysed immediately
when combined with the
SYBORG Data Analyzer, or can
be transmitted to the
SYBORG Interception Centre for
further processing.
High-speed Modem Connections
Our solution for intercepting high-speed modem connections
autonomously distinguishes between active tapping—for
high-speed modem connections—
and passive tapping—for
conventional voice and data connections. Captured data are saved in interim storage
and transmitted to the
SYBORG Interception Centre
(
SIC) via an
ISDN or
IP
connection for further processing or to an autonomous system for recording and
analysis with the appropriate interface. Alternatively, we also offer a fully
integrated system that includes the
SYBORG Data Analyzer
for decoding the data using a graphic user interface for the analysis.
Passive IP Tapping (IP Probe)
The
IP Probe system for
intercepting
broadband traffic can intercept up to 9 lines with data rates up to 1 GBit
/ sec (also optical)
with one single IP
Probe, without any loss of packets. The
filter algorithms only process the relevant traffic. Thanks to integrated decoding
and routing it is possible to carry out recording and further processing in any
monitoring centre that conforms to
ETSI (e.g.
SIC
from
SYBORG). Flexible interception criteria enable
the probe
to be used in almost any broadband network
for the interception of:
- IP addresses
- URLs and host names
- VoIP
- email (addresses or user name in SMTP, POP3, IMAP4)
- Webmail
- Chat and Instant Messaging (IRC, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, FTP, Telnet, News)
All the filter criteria can be set on the spot and become active immediately.
ISDN BRI lines
A
passive ISDN tap is employed
here
with a recording functionality. Voice and data
communications (e.g. Internet via
ISDN) as well as
signalling information are recorded, saved in interim storage and forwarded over
an
IP line to the
SYBORG Interception
Centre or an autonomous system for recording and analysis with an appropriate
interface.
SIR
Intercepting telecommunications in businesses or hotels
entails both legal and technical problems as only one target needs to be intercepted.
Since the typical solution is overall interception of one PRI
line, technical implementation involves considerable effort and is often not feasible
on legal grounds.
With the SIR (SYBORG ISDN
Recorder) it is now possible to record on one ISDN PRI
line (30 B channels) directly and to filter according
to specific numbers. This method ensures that only communications for the
target facility are recorded (e.g. in a hotel room). This drastically
decreases the technical outlay needed to carry out the interception measure
and ensures that the recording is target-centric, which
simplifies enforcement of court orders for interception meaures like this.
The SIR consists of a portable PC, which is connected
passively to an ISDN line and records all telephone
calls for the specified phone numbers. The SIR also has a facility for listening
to calls directly and can duplicate the calls to another telephone line -
so the investigator can if necessary move around freely with his mobile phone
and can also listen in to any telecommunications even when in the vicinity of
the target. This makes it possible for surveillance teams to take action within
a minimum of time.
The SIR can also be equipped with the additional
SDA software (SYBORG Data
Analyzer), which makes it possible to decode and view fax, modem and Internet
sessions in the SIR directly. The recorded communications
can of course also be transmitted to the Syborg Interception
Centre for further processing.
